====== Activity ====== ===== Predefined Activities ===== Each [[Model]] supports three pre-defined activities: [[Speaking]], [[Attentive]], [[Idle]]. See [[Model Assets]] for an in-depth look at how [[Stance]], [[Pose]], and [[Activity]] combine. ===== Emotional Expression ===== In addition to the required Activities, there may be emotive or other expressions available for certain Models. An example of this would be "laughing." The render of an emotive or other expression, if available, replaces the render of the required expression. Emotive or other expressions are all optional, but many are nice to have, especially for main characters in their main outfits. If a Model is in a Standing Looking Left or Right Pose, and the specified Expression isn’t available for that Pose, the engine will try to use the Standing Forward Pose for that expression instead, if available, otherwise, only a default [[Manpu-Style Overlay]] may be shown near their head, or a verbal description such as “Sally (laughing): ” will be added after the character’s name in dialogue. If a Model is in a Sitting Looking Left or Right Pose, and the specified Expression isn’t available for that Pose, the engine will try to use the Sitting Forward Pose instead, if available, otherwise only a default [[Manpu-Style Overlay]] may be shown near their head, or a verbal description will be added after the character’s name in dialogue. If the Model is in a “Presenting Object” pose, and the specified Expression isn’t available for that Pose, a default emoji will be shown, or a verbal description will be added to the dialogue. ===== One-Off Activity Overlays ===== These are renders that can be composited onto a scene for a particular effect, but aren’t part of the normal Standing/Sitting and dialogue system. They will be added to the Character's [[Model]] data so that the game engine will still be able to treat them as the Character in every other way. ===== Cut Scenes and Bonus Renders ===== Cut scenes or bonus renders are unrelated to the regular background compositing system. Dialogue or narration could still be shown overlaid on top of these while they advance the story. They can also be se aside for use as "Patreon bonus content."
